Career Day at Kernan Elementary

This month the gym at Kernan Elementary School was transformed into a vibrant hub of possibility today as students explored a wide array of career paths during our annual Career Day. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Sheriff’s Dept. and the Utica Fire Department for attending, and to David Longeretta (Criminal Defense Attorney and New Hartford Town Court Judge) and Natalie DeTraglia (Social Worker) for their dedication to justice and community support. The students were also inspired by the creativity and skill of Luke Medici (AC Barberstudio), Dakotah Schaaf (Cosmetology), and Tricia Zegerelli & Juliana Muirhead (Dance Works Studio), while Francesca Zumpano (Fitness Instructor) and Cody Herbert (Athletic Trainer) kept the energy high with a focus on health.

Our local business leaders, including Coleen Mastrovito (Mastrovito Hyundai), Virginia Franco (Coldwell Banker Faith), Anthony Giglio and team (3 Brothers Sealcoating), Tim Hodge (Champion Homes), and Collis Heating and Cooling, offered invaluable insights into entrepreneurship and industry. We also want to thank Mike Rahn (Software Engineer), Adam McLain (Biology & Chemistry), Thomas Giglio (Pharmacist), and the representatives from Indium Corporation for highlighting the importance of STEM in our area. Finally, a special thank you to Tyler Hutchinson (Community Foundation) and Mallory Shannon (Miss Mallory’s Transport) for sharing how essential services and foundations keep our city moving forward.

Thank you all for taking the time to invest in our students and for truly inspiring the next generation! #UticaUnited
