Two Donovan Middle School students were the recipients of the Patriots Pen Awards essay contest. Miss Buono's English students—Vincenzo Lapaglia and Ryan Patterson, won first and third place, respectively, in the local contest sponsored by District 4, VFW. The topic of the essay was on how they can participate in democracy. On Saturday, May 3rd at the Whitestown Post 7393, the awards were presented, along with monetary gifts. Vincenzo also moved on to the state-wide contest, where he came in fourth place! Congratulations to Vincenzo, Ryan and Miss Buono!
