Steet Toyota has once again rallied its staff to support local students, donating and packing 250 backpacks filled with school supplies for the Utica City School District. This marks the second consecutive year the dealership has organized the back-to-school drive. The backpacks have been distributed evenly among the district's schools to help students in need.
"It's exciting to give back," said Carly Mathias, Digital Marketing and Communications Manager for the Steet Ponte Auto Group and Co-Owner. "Staff members all got together to put notebooks, rulers, glue sticks, pencils and more into backpacks. Then we zipped them up and boxed them for future students to receive."
Mathias noted that several employees involved in the effort are Proctor High School alumni, making the initiative even more meaningful for the team. This donation ensures students start the year with the tools they require to succeed. In coming together to support students and families who may need a helping hand, the Proctor Alumni are once again united with their roots.
But their generosity doesn't stop there, another 250 backpacks have been donated to neighboring school districts. This back-to-school drive is just one of many ways Steet Toyota supports the community, joining other initiatives like their annual winter coat drive.
