Utica City School District Named One of Forbes Best-In-State Employers for Second Consecutive Year

For the second year in a row, the Utica City School District (UCSD) has been named to Forbes prestigious list of America’s Best-In-State Employers for 2026. Notably, UCSD holds the unique distinction of being the only K-12 school district among the 102 New York State employers recognized this year.

“This recognition by Forbes belongs to the thousands of dedicated employees who show up for our students and families each day,” said Acting Superintendent Dr. Kathleen Davis. “Every member of our UCSD team plays an important role in creating an environment where our students feel cared for, are inspired, and are encouraged to be the best version of themselves. Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to develop the rankings based on an independent survey of more than 245,000 U.S. employees. More than 2 million evaluations collected over three years were analyzed, placing special weight on recent feedback from current employees within each state.

This award underscores UCSD’s ongoing commitment to cultivating a supportive, rewarding work environment where staff members are empowered to serve the students and families of the Utica community.
